Fifteen Minutes of Fame
There have been many happy moments in the 18 years I have spent on this earth. However, there is one moment that comes to my mind. The year was 2003; it was a hot and humid day in the month of April. I was in my freshman year of high school, and I was given the honor of playing the role of Lady Capulet in my English class production of Romeo and Juliet. When the day arrived, the whole class was nervous, but I think I had butterflies the size of condors in my stomach. As I walked to the front of the classroom, I saw all my classmates looking at me. Taking a deep breath, I said my lines with only two to three mistakes, and while reciting my lines I could hear my heart beat in my chest. When I was done, I could hear my friends cheering me on as I got off the stage. To many this happy moment might seem a bit strange, but for me it was different. In that moment, people acknowledged me, and I got my first fifteen minutes of fame.
